Southerns VS Northerns

Sherita Mayes · Friday, August 19th 2005 at 12:20PM · 342 views
I currently live in Chicago and I am originally from Shaw, Mississippi. I was talking to some friends the other day and everyone always tell me that they can tell that I'm not originally from Chicago. And I asked how could they tell. One guy told me that he knew I'm not from here because of my humbleness and graceful attitude. So we started the discussion on how southern people are nicer that those from the north. What do you think? Agree or disagree? Explain yourself...

I agree. We are raised different than northerns. In the south we are taught to be cordial and graceful. We are taught to speak and be humble, especially to our elders. I am from Greenville, MS less than 15 minutes from Shaw.

i agree. i've heard soooo much stuff about how southern people are wayy nicer than northern people. i have also experienced it for myself. i'm from michigan tho and i think i'm pretty nice once you get to know me. a lot of people tell me they thought i was stuck up when they first saw me, but then they got to know me and found out that i'm a really cool person.

I disagree! I was born in New York and lived here all my life. My parents are both from Georgia. I don't think that where you live have an effect on your attitude but the way you are brought up in the enviroment that you live in. Whether you are in the North or South your surrounding enviroment makes a difference. Meaning Family, Friends & Associates
