Sadly Racism still exists

Over the weekend I was coming from one of my school's academic buildings. It was dark, about 8 p.m. on a Friday night. As I was walking towards my apartment, I saw this guy speeding by in a truck. As he passed me he said, "White power" and then sped off. I was shocked because something like that has never happened to me before. I mean, people have said racist things to me before indirectly, but never in this way.
I was a little scared because it was dark and I was by myself. I didn't know if this man was planning to come back around the corner and try to do something to me so I just kept it moving to my destination.
There have been plenty of blacks on my school's campus that have told me that similar things have happened to them. I just think it's sad that people are still so closed minded. I never saw that man before. Never did anything to him. I just wonder how we are ever going to get anywhere as a whole with people like that. It also makes me wonder where people get off thinking that they created the world. It shocks me that someone could hate an entire race of people for no reason! God created us both so ignorant people like that are just going to have to deal with seeing my black face because I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon. I am black and always will be.
