What's Hood?
I am so f***in tired of people telling me their hood and I'm not!! WTF is hood? I mean just b/c I didn't grow up in da projects, my mother wasn't a crackhead I didn't have to sell my p**** to eat that doesn't make me any less hood then the next person. I'M FROM NEW YORK BABY!!! It doesn't get no hooder than this. What makes a person hood? Going to jail? Getting arrested? Starving themselves to sleep? Listening to rap music? Killling someone? To me all of this is a form of Black Codes all of these negative things are what continues to hold OUR people back. So if this is what hood is, then no I'm not hood, but if this is what hood is or being hood then why do we praise it?
I consider myself hood b/c of the life style that I life. I don't live in a house with a picket white fence. I don't live the "American Dream" There's no father in my life. My parents don't make 6 figures a year. Mine have to struggle to maintain like any other parent trying to raise their children by themselves. So what's hood to you?

i think bein hood is all about how you carry yourself.bein hood is not a circumstance,bein hood is an attitude you choose to possess.the got people who live the way you described above,and they choose not to be hood.and they also have people who don't live that way who choose to be hood.bein hood is a type of mentality.everybody can't be hood.bein hood is havin the street knowledge and knowin how to hold your own.bein hood is knowin how to survive in the streets no matter where you came from.basically,if you hood,you know it.girl don't let nobody tell you different.keep doin your thang! i ain't come from the projects either and i know i'm hood!
