Long Distance Relationships...

M. Antonio Silas · Thursday, August 4th 2005 at 1:43PM · 217 views
I want everyone's opinion on the subject: can they work? Can they be successful? Before know, I'd been in one for 2 1/2 years, and it went well. I would've stayed in it, but we were going to different colleges and wanted to try something new, so we just broke it off. What does everyone else think? Could YOU see yourself being in one?

You're at Tennessee State. One of my friends from High School goes there. Anyway, I'm currently in a long distance relationship now. And it's really based on the couple making it work. With me and my boyfriend, we have an understanding. With me being a junior at Chicago State and him being a senior at Langston, we know that we are in college to graduate and get our lives together so we can eventually get married and start a family. But in order to do that, we have to keep our heads in the books. Now he's a Sigma, which of course will make any girl nervous because greeks seem to be very well known and a lot of girls want to be with them, but I trust him. I trust that he loves me as much as he says he does and that he will be faithful to me. And the saying, distance makes the heart grow fonder is definitely true. So if the couple is willing to make to relationship work, then it will work. I have complete faith in my relationship because we have the Lord Jesus Christ protecting it every single day. So I know it will work.

NO, i can't see myself being in one because I can't go a week without seeing my girl and we've been together for almost 2 and a half years. But EVERYBODY is different so don't take my word for it

i think it's all up to the couple.if they really want to make it work, then they have the power to make it work.i don't think people should try a long distance relationship if they're not willing to go the extra mile.you have to have trust and faith.you have to trust yourself and your mate.but once you're in it,its not good to constantly doubt your relationship.yes, everyone has doubts but you can push those doubts aside and not dwell on them.if you are confident, you have a better chance of survival.i'm going to fam,and my boyfriend is a junior at nc a&t.yes i think about the negative but i trust him.and i know that he understands he has a good woman.so if your comfortable in a long distance relationship,go for it.but if you're not, please don't set yourself up for failure.
