im an upcoming rapper but honestly im starting to get discouraged. On the radio and TV it seems like as long as you got a nice beat then your song is gonna be hot no matter how bad a rapper you are. What happened to the days when rappers placed pride in their lyrics. Whether its gangsta music or conscience, i enjoy it all as long as its good. its like there's some kinda conspiracy theory goin on to keep the good rappers (like myself) on the shelf and underground. i dont know about you all but im getting sick of rappers like mike jones and the ying yang twinz getting more play than Common who is way better than them and has a much more positive message than them as well. Stop supporting trash music

While you can't get rich by having the best lyrics (unless you're Eminem or Jay-Z), you gain more respect (like Nas and Common).

OMG! I thought I was the only one! I guess not. But here's my question, if there are more people out there who are tired of listening to "Hey b***h, wait til you see my d**k," and "girl g'me that p***y," then why are these stars rising and making so much money. It's absolutely disgusting and setting a terrible example on the rest of generation.
