Pam, this call was so extremely informative I just can't begin to verbalize my gratitude... and I'm a writer!! LOL But in all seriousness I will be calling again because there was so much info packed into the call that I want to make sure I got it all. I will be e-mailing you shortly for the handout from the Oprah producer. I do believe that i'm on track with some of the things you suggest.
I've actually submitted articles to several magazine publications and in the process of submitting query to Essence and will continue to do so. Based on your call I'm going to create an action plan for my self which includes purchasing the Writer's Yearbook as well as your Synergy Energy. I also decided that I am going to follow through with adding "life coach" to my credentials so the piece you mentioned about public speaking is exceptionally beneficial (toastmasters, NSA, etc). I am considering a certification course the an organization called Professional Women's Network (Linda Eastman). Also my cousin is former News & Notes (NPR) media journalist Farai Chideya and when I told her about my book last summer she was very excited and supportive. I spoke with her last week and she offered to assist with any networking or additional support I may need. In what way would you suggest that I specifically solicit her assistance (considering that she could be my celeb endorsement so to speak)? I do plan on mailing her out a few complimentary copies very soon. You also mentioned getting family and friends to give reviews on Amazon... this was AWESOME advise because I had not even considered that since the book has only been on Amazon for about a month.
