As much as I like to walk into a room and feel good about the way I look, I trust my abilities regardless of what I'm wearing. I feel if I'm going to do well, I can do it whether I'm wearing a suit or sweats and those old shoes I use to do yard work in. I do feel good when I look nice, but I don't think it affects my performance. Of course I like to be dressed appropriately for whatever situation I'm in, but if I'm just going to class then my brain is the most important thing I'm taking with me. So if I succeed it's because I was prepared for what I was doing and not because I felt good about how I looked.
I don't necessarily think that clothes can help u perform better in school. it might give you the confidence you nedd to do good in school, but I can tell you one thing, regardless of what school u go to, especailly a black college, the peope are goin to dress their asses off! It's just the lifestyle that most youngblack youth go by in today's society. People like looking good and feeling good. Another thing is that people are afraid to express their sense of individuality and originality so you tend to see new fashion trends popping up everywhere. As a fashion design student, I pay close attention to what I wear and what others are wearing
let me answer your question with a question. How do u feel about dressing well and your performance? By the look of your picture u seem to enjoy looking good and also by the look of your past activities u dont seem like u have too much struggle with success. I feel that looking good shows others your capibilities in whatever u do. By walking in to a classroom decently dressed one can feel good about themselves but shows to others that u can look the part but only u can walk the walk.
Yes the way I dress and especially having a haircut weekly definetly has an affect on the way I feel, perform, function etc.

Me personally it doesnt affect my attitude because clothes never make the person know what I mean. Its all in the head. Now when it comes to dressing for success then that rule bends a little just because of the society we are in today. Of course everyone had certain outfits that boost you confidence i mean it's human nature. Especially with us black women. But yeah i would its only natural to fel good when you gotta bangin outfit on and your hair and ya nails done. DIVA 4 Life. peace
