I read Chantell's dedication to her father, Mr. Kenneth Chanault, and was deeply impressed by her obvious love and respect for him.
If you read my 'claim to fame' you were able to glean just how much I loved my Mother...indeed, how terribly I miss her.
I didn't mention my father. It seems that when I think of him a lump forms in my throat. I start to weep. April 30, 2005 marked the one year anniversary of his death.
We only get one Mother and one Father (biologically speaking). Remember to show gratitude to them. Don't hold on to their past mistakes or failures. What does it accomplish?
Life is full of uncertainties, to be sure. Please take the time now to 'honor' your parents, or guardians or whomever played a key role in your development and growth.
When you do this you will become an 'illuminator'. The path that you travel in life's journey will remain lit. You will see your way clearly through the briars and thickets that you will inevitably encounter.
As an 'older' student I simply wanted to encourage those of you who honor your parents to never stop. And to those of you who might be experiencing difficulty in this area, for whatever reason, it is never 'too' late to start.
p.s. Our fathers may not bear the name 'Chanault', it may be Jones or Smith or Moss...all the more reason to express our honor and respect.
