Tom Joyner Foundation awards more than $33,000 in scholarships
RALEIGH – The Tom Joyner Foundation awarded $33,500 to Saint Augustine’s College students in conjunction with the
School of the Month campaign. The College was the Foundation’s School of the Month for June. Scholarship winners
were announced on The Tom Joyner Morning Show throughout the month.
The Tom Joyner Foundation has raised money for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) since 1998. The
Foundation, formed by the nationally syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner, chose Saint Augustine’s College as part
of its ongoing effort to assist HBCUs in broadening and strengthening their efforts to raise money to help keep students
attending these institutions.
