
The Howard University Alumni Association Honors Volunteer Leaders and the Founders of AlumniRoundup.com, Awards Student Scholarship at Howard University on May 9, 2008

(WASHINGTON, DC) May 1, 2008 - The Howard University Alumni Association (HUAA) will host its annual awards recognition program on Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Blackburn Center, Hilltop Lounge on the campus of Howard University, Washington, DC 20059, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
As is tradition, HUAA will announce the scholarship award recipient, a matriculating student at Howard University. During the program, HUAA President Sandi Brown will announce the recipient of the 2008 President’s Award.
HUAA will also recognize the contributions of local alumni leadership: Shana Ervin, Howard University Club of Greater Washington, DC; Deborah Walker, Howard University Club of Prince George’s County, MD; Judge Joe E. Webster, Howard University Alumni Club of Research Triangle, NC; and, George Wyche, Jr., Esq., Howard University Alumni Club of Metropolitan Houston, TX.
In addition, a special award will go to Bryndan Moore and Rustin Moore, Howard University graduates and the founders of AlumniRoundup.com, a trailblazing social networking website that links thousands of alumni from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Specifically, the duo launched BisonRoundup.com as a part of the website, which connects Howard University alumni, and allows members to join special interest groups including HU Parents and Entrepreneurs, and civic affiliations. The brothers were recently included in Ebony Magazine’s Power 150 List.
The program will conclude with the installation of the newly elected officers: Kimberly Singleton, President; Sarah Davidson, Vice President for Administration; Father Darryl James, Vice President for Membership; Keith Benn, Vice President for Finance; and, Beverly Reynolds, Recording Secretary. The Regional Chairpersons and Representatives will also be installed during the ceremony.
