Even though Claflin doesn't have a marching band, I went to the Battle of the Bands this year. The sound distortion was horrible in the 300 level BUT as you can see from the pics I took, you get to see all of the formations clearly! Almost e'rbody played Mary J Blige and Soulja Boy, except Texas Southern who showed e'rbody that "they don't Superman no mo!" lol The way TxSU came on the field I knew they were going to turn it out, and they didn't disappoint! There were alot of nice formations and transitions with Virginia State taking the cake with the Battle of the Bands mascot formation. And last but not least, a band isn't complete without the dancers! All of them were looking beautiful. Weaves and phonytails were swinging left and right, but the kept it together! I heard some folk say VSU's dancers came out lookin like a pack of orange highlighters! lol(They form the right knee in the photo.) I took quite a few pictures(100+) and have some of them online, hit me up if you wanted to see more than what I uploaded here. The bands alternated "home" sides so some bands appear to be upside down, which was a great decision. It let everybody get their money's worth.
