Just Being Me

Yvonna Merriwether · Tuesday, December 18th 2007 at 8:02PM · 529 views
I've finally reached womanhood
A Fiskite and it feels really good
At first I was timid and nervous
Of moving out and facing life on my own
Actually its not that bad
I've found strength that I never knew I had
A college freshman living in an apartment
Giving me millions of decisions to make
But as a young adult I have to choose whats best
And trust me that becomes the biggest test
Knowing what you can and can't handle
Don't turn into someone that you're not
See me I'm just being me
I love school, it's my top priority
I know that everynight I can't party
I know what I got to do to be who I want to be
No more can my mother make decisions for e
So I'm going to keep it real
Yes, I am going to make mistakes
But thats just a part of me being me
And finding what it takes
To complete my dream
