KISS 104.1 releases the “Mid-day Diva” (609 hits)

Kiss 104.1 mid-day host Sasha the Diva was let go today. Her contract is not up until June but the station decided to release her early after five years on the air. The station is quoted as saying that new direction and not job performance as the reason for not renewing her contract.

The “Diva”, who has been dabbling with acting more recently, says she is ready to move on with no hard feelings toward the station or general manager, Tony Kidd.

She wants to get more into acting and has appeared in “The Gospel” and Tyler Perry’s “Daddy’s Little Girl,” plus a show on TV One. She will likely move to L.A. or N.Y. to pursue that dream.

Sasha, a New York native arrived in Atlanta in 2002 by way of Baltimore and has sustained solid ratings since joining KISS.

When asked why she uses the stage name “diva,” Sasha replied that she’s “a woman who is aggressive, knows where she’s going in her career and is beautiful inside and out.”
