She's Dying

Morgan Ford · Friday, February 23rd 2007 at 9:39AM · 316 views
She's dying
Can't you hear her crying?

Sickened with disease
It's hard to put her mind at ease
He told her that he loved her
That he'd never put anything above her

She's dying
Can't you hear her crying?

Friends have turned their backs
People stop and stare in their tracks
Sickness keeps her awake at night
Sitting alone with a heart full of fear and fright

She's dying
Can't you hear her crying?

She's a strong beautiful black girl
Who'll never have a chance to make a difference in this world
What about her dreams?
They'll never come true as it seems

She's dying
Can't you hear her crying?

She was young and confused
Now she's left alone feeling misused
Now she knows he never cared
Not even about the love they shared

She's dying
Can't you hear her crying?

She sits crying a mountain of tears
Doing her best to conquer her fears
She's tired of the lies he told her
Remembering how he said he would be there to console her

She's dying
Can't you hear her crying?

She takes pill after pill
To stop her from getting ill
Now that her life has come to an end
She has one message for you dear friend
Always remember that abstience is the key
So you don't suffer the same fate as she
