Sen. Barack Hussein Obama (D-Ill.) Exploring US Presidential Possibility (150 hits)

After much speculation and anticipation from political onlookers, Sen. Barack Hussein Obama (D-Ill.) has reportedly finally made it official that he is forming an "Exploratory Committee" to look into the possibility of running for the next president of the United States of America.

Do you think we're (Americans) ready for our first African American president?

If you have never REGISTERED to vote or have not actually utilized or plan to utilize that privilege/right to go to the polls to VOTE, will you do so NOW?

And, for you up and coming journalists, this could be one of the most exhilarating and history-making election bonanzas our country will experience for some time to come - Find a way to get involved during the early stages of the presidential candidates' campaigns by researching all (Democrats and Republicans) official candidates' platform(s) (what he/she stands for and his/her plans for improvements/resolutions.), set up interviews/forums, get local reactions from the citizens in your area(s), etc.

I don't think "Americans" are ready for an "African-American Male" President. I like Sen. Obama. I read his first book and like his charisma. However, he will split the Democratic vote and make John Edwards / Hillary Clinton take sides. And in the end, they are out for self (Presidential Campaigns cost $50M). We've now had African-Americans hold the 3rd most powerful political position in the country (Sec. of State) and what or where has that gotten us ? I encourage everyone to register to vote and be involved in the political process. However; don't let the majority pull the wool over your eyes through the information overload we receive on TV that constantly promotes "their" process. Please remember; we received OUR limited civil rights by ECONOMIC BOYCOTTS...... We must become ECONOMICALLY INDEPENDENT by establishing our own income streams aside from working on whatever plantation employs you ! By all means, get residual / entreprenuel income.....by any legal means neccessary !

Yea, I agree. I think its important to stay focused on the meat and potatoes and not just the party line. I screwed up with Bush thinking how much more moral he would be in the begining. Yea, shoot me! Clinton was 10 times the president Bush could ever be. How dumb could I be. We don't even agree on the issues. This time I am going to tune out the oppinions and get into the politics, the precedents and the strategy. I haven't read the Sen. Obama book though, was it very good?

Thanks for your candor on the subject, Joyce.
Anyway, I have not read either of Sen. Obama’s books (listed below), but do plan to do so in the coming months.

“The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream Crown”, 2006.
“Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance New York”: Times Books, 1995. 2004 reprint.

Also, although there are many other Web sites regarding the senator, I posted the one below -
