EAGLES RALLY FOR THIRD PLACE FINISH AT PGA MINORITY CHAMPIONSHIP

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - North Carolina Central University overcame a nine-stroke deficit to pass Morehouse College for third place at the 20th PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fla. on Sunday (May 7).
The third place effort, edging Morehouse by two strokes, is the best team finish at the PGA event in the past three years. The Eagles placed fourth in 2004 and fifth in 2005.
NCCU sophomore Brian Demby regrouped after a day one score of 84 to fire a 78 on Saturday and a 79 on Sunday to finish in a tie for seventh place on the individual leaderboard.
