VOORHEES COLLEGE CELBRATES HOMECOMING 2006

Miss Asia Izearia Sharday Brown and Mr. Terrence Woodbury named Queen
and King



Denmark, SC - Voorhees College will celebrate its 2006 Homecoming the
week of November 5th through 11th. This year's Homecoming is packed with
events and fun things for everyone to do.



Miss Asia Izearia Sharday Brown has been chosen Homecoming Queen for this year's festivities. She is a senior Sociology major from Holly Hill, SC. Miss Brown is currently Vice President of the Senior Class, Vice President of the Sisterhood Celebration, a Peer Tutor Mentor, a
member of the Cheerleading Squad, the Student Support Services Program, the Sisterhood Celebration, the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural
Resources and Related Sciences Club, and the Sociology Club. She has also been President of Menafee Hall, a Resident Assistant, and a member
of the Residence Hall Council. Asia takes great pride in Voorhees College. "I am so honored to have been elected Miss Homecoming 2006. My
goal has always been to make a difference at Voorhees College, as I have served in many student organizations. I look forward to showing and
promoting school spirit and pride, as well as helping to foster a strong bond of sisterhood among the female students", she said.




Mr. Terrence Woodbury has been chosen Homecoming King for the 2006 Homecoming celebration. He is a junior Mass Communications major from Gainesville, FL, a member of the Men's Basketball Team, the Mass Communications Club, the E.E. Wright Drama Guild and is Vice President
of the Menafee Hall Council. He has been named the "top recruit" for the Voorhees Men's basketball team. Terrance believes in Voorhees
College and is committed to sharing the Voorhees College story. He said, "It is my calling to touch other African American males in particular. I
want to become a part of the legacy of Voorhees. This is my challenge, my role and why I must use my leadership skills to help maintain the image and history of Voorhees College".

Fashion Show featuring Models Troupe 7:30pm Mass

* Thursday, November 9

Comedy Show featuring Sherman Golden, Dexter Tucker, and Henry Welch
