Let There Be Life...
Poets speak to the hearts of the people on life support
To soothe kindered spirits
As we marinate in burning buildings
With a convient noose to hang ourselves
The only exit from this mental plantation
As our bodies starve to death on pork
And young girls await for special deliveries from storks
As eagles fly in the skies to intercept our young
Raising them to be all that they can be
Without any nest eggs
As our oppressors hide behind hedge funds
With special interest handcuffs for the D boys
Pre-ordered by the feds
As we demand for civilrights
With outdated blue prints for action
Blistered feet from a million marches
As some black men have forgotten how to survive
And instead of saving our selves
Many boys have found refuge
Between our black queens thighs
Long enough to leave weeds in their gardens
As the life cycle only spins at 180
And we continue to breed ignorance in this baron land
As politicians speak in sign languages
Because they have lost their voice
With congressional gag orders
Whether you vote for dumbo or the jackass
We are still headed for the slaughter
And we have a deep pool of black credentials
Rev, Dr, Phd, MBA, BA & JD
With all these plaques and watered down knowledge
Instead of getting built up
We get dumbed down in college
As Our communities continue to be doa
And instead of pumping our fist for freedom
We find ourselves pumping the chest of our communities
* Clear *
As life gets blury
* Clear *
And the movement slows down
* Clear *
And we become a black code
Locked in the hatred of this matrix
Rocking the cotton that was picked by our ancestors
Trying to get a passport to be with Alice in Wonderland
Sometimes I wonder black man and woman
If we've forgotten how to build
If we've forgotten how to breathe
If we've forgotten how to struggle
Not compromising the big picture
Getting favor in God's light
As he performs miracles
Empowering our voice and our struggle
In you, and you, and you
To replenish our temples
Housing our loving spirits
Securing our unprecedented future
And when you look into your mirror
Know that you are your own destiny
And the future begins with you
And the future is now
So secure life for you
And your future seeds
Igniting the power of life
The power of love
And the power of Unity
It lives in me
It thrives in you
Its what gives life to our culture
And its what gives life to our community
We are all Gods children
So let their be life...
