Oakwood University is the Only HBCU to be Highlighted in New BYUtv Series (490 hits)

President Pollard along with over 50 college/university presidents gathered on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the nation's capital for the premier of the first episode of a new BYUtv documentary series, "Higher Ed: The Power of Faith-Inspired Learning in America."

President Pollard and First Lady Prudence Pollard were present at the Kennedy Center to represent Oakwood University at the American Council of Education's Faith-Based Colleges and Universities premier of the new documentary series. Twelve faith-based universities were featured. President Pollard was invited to serve on the inaugural Executive Committee of the ACE Commission for faith-based universities in 2024. Oakwood University is the only HBCU and Seventh-day Adventist institution featured in the documentary series--on the second episode which will premier in August. The episode follows two students, Jayden Rolling and Madison Minisee who were highlighted by university leadership to represent the student body.

President Pollard observed, "We are very grateful that Oakwood was included in this inaugural series. It is a great honor for our institution and is one more attestation to the high regard with which Oakwood is held in the marketplace or faith-based education. To God be the glory!"

The official date and time of episode 2 featuring Oakwood will be made available.
