Empowering the Next Generation: The Arise And Shine HBCU Coding Bootcamp Returns (2736 hits)

Opening doors to tech through immersive learning, collaboration, and mentorship

In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, technology skills have become the golden key that unlocks countless opportunities. That’s why the Arise And Shine Foundation is excited to announce the return of its groundbreaking Coding Bootcamp and E.S.T.E.A.M.ED Summit for a second consecutive year. This transformative program isn't just another coding class—it's a comprehensive pathway designed to propel students into the tech world through hands-on learning, mentorship, and real financial support.

What makes this opportunity special? For starters, it's completely accessible to beginners. While an interest in technology is helpful, the program welcomes students with limited or no prior coding experience. The only requirements are enrollment in an accredited HBCU institution and a genuine passion for learning and innovation.

What Participants Can Expect
  • Engaging virtual kickoff that sets the tone for the entire program
  • Inspiring speakers who've navigated successful careers in tech
  • Skill-building and wellness exercises
  • Cultivating a network of like-minded peers and potential mentors
  • Two-week immersive journey focused on SwiftUI programming language

Beyond Just Coding

The culmination of the program will take place at Florida A&M University (June 25-27, 2025) and Cheyney University (July 9-11, 2025), where students will convene for a two-day Summit. This in-person experience offers something special: the opportunity to present their projects to peers and professionals, receiving valuable feedback and recognition for their work.

Every student who successfully completes the program receives a $1,000 scholarship—tangible support that can help ease the financial burden of education. In addition to the monetary award, participants receive various gifts that further support their technical education journey.

How to Get Involved

Applications are open now but close on Friday, April 25, 2025. Interested students can apply here.
