Stereotyped

George Morton · Friday, June 9th 2006 at 1:06PM · 295 views
I would just like to know why as African-Americans or Black People we are stereotyped against so much more than any other race? Everytime it is a crime or something the first race they look to blame is us. If people see black person driving a nice car and dressed real nice he must be a drug dealer. This happens a lot in Farmville where I attended high school. What most people dont know about the town of Farmville and Prince Edward County is to avoid integration they closed the public schools from 1951 to 1964. I would just like to know if anyone can explain to me what we as a race have done to discriminated so much against?

Great question and great blog Bro. Surprised not more responses.
But I know racism and stereotyping are ignorantly taught due to feeling inferior......

Have it ever occured to you that maybe the reason why we are hated so much is because we are looked at as being superior? If you think about it, only haters have something negative to say about someone else and it's usually that person they envy the most. I wasn't raised to dislike any other race because i believe that's ignorance, plus i have no reason to envy other races. As black people, we are strong and powerful and when people hold power it's always someone who wants to strip that from you. When i'm in a prejudice situation, alot of my peers think i'm crazy because i never blow up or get extreme upset. That's because i already installed the ideal of being hated because they envy me. I find it funny for a race [wht ppl (not all)] to be so convince that they are superior is so easily intimidated. We intimidate those who hate us. Take it as a compliment. Let's change our attitude towards racism. The more offense we find it, the more we fuel haters.
