WEtv & All Black Tv's Ashley McFarlin (Howard U. '03) To Present Her BEE Bootcamp at 2023 JXN Film Festival (1025 hits)

Ashley McFarlin is the film & TV executive who has worked on both sides of TV and film projects as an independent producer with her Birds Eye Entertainment and as a corporate exec. where she serves as the V.P. of Development for AMC Networks' AllBlk Tv and WE tv overseeing new and developing projects for the networks.

McFarlin is the Executive Producer on the popular series Grown & Gospel, Brat Loves Judy, A La Carte and 50 Cent’s Hip Hop Homicides.

With over twenty years’ experience in the entertainment industry, McFarlin began her career as a production assistant at CNN in Atlanta, GA., and she has garnered a strong reputation for crafting layered, elevated stories of larger-than-life characters that are "wildly" entertaining.

McFarlin knows firsthand how the very competitive industry chooses projects and content creators to slate and work with, so she and her team at Birds Eye Entertainment (B.E.E.) have created the bootcamps to empower those aspiring writers, directors, producers, and industry professionals looking to enhance their knowledge and skills for heightened success.

Participants will experience an intense 3-day workshop series that arms them with the tangible tools they need to navigate the world of television and film.

Each day teaches and exposes very specific skills needed to gain access to and thrive in an industry that is often closed off to those without the relationships and pedigree of the industry elite.

"Our team is committed to building up a legion of filmmakers, writers, television producers, and
directors who will catapult the television industry to new heights with fresh stories and innovative storytelling styles", says McFarlin.
