It’s is so easy

It is easy for you to say
that you will never leave
Since only time will tell
where we will be

It is so hard to let go
to the only love you know
Yet, it hurts to remain
when things have changed

How can a person who taught me love
be so hypocritical to his word?
And why did I not contemplate
the end of “us” would occur?

How can you just come into my life
pull down my guard
and walk away without a fight?
