HBCUConnect's Pierre sends greetings from France

I'm working in France as an English Assistant on behalf of the French Ministry of Education. The program is open to native English speakers.
The website for more information is:

Click under "Education".

My experiences here have been quite eye-opening and positive overall. Nanterre, a suburb located northwest of Paris, is like a nice average American college town (Université Paris X), only it's in France.
I work at the Lycée Joliot-Curie. The school was named in honor of the renowned scientists Fréderick Joliot and his wife Irène Curie, daughter Nobel prize winning scientists, Marie and Pierre Curie.
As with any new environment, finding where you "fit in" can be a challenge. Adding language and cultural differences to the mix can lead to a potential problem. Happily, I can honestly say that I have been warmly welcomed into my school community, not only by the other teachers and staff, but by the students.
