Setting the Standard

We are living in the days where evil dwells in the land.
It’s time to be set apart; it’s time to take a stand.
Yet, we’re holding on to the things that are keeping us bound.
How can we rise if we’ve got baggage constantly weighing us down?
Hebrews 12:1 says, “Lay aside every weight and sin.”
It’s time to be released from this bondage within.
Holding on to the things of this deceitful land,
Just let go and let God, Put it all in His hands.

Perfect your imperfections; get delivered and be set free.
Raise the bar in our standards so that the world might see.
How long will we let the world change us, & not change the world instead?
It’s time to get real saints, look to God and move ahead.
Learn to glorify God in the midst of every trial.
Learn to live and maintain a Holy and righteous life style.
Because our witness is all we’ve got; we need to be an example for others.
The Bible lets us know that we are the keepers of our brothers.

You see, God brought us out, just so He could bring us in.
He placed us in these positions so that this battle, we can win.
We’re forgetting that God’s grace is sufficient for our every mistake.
So, we’re loosing hope when we do things that aren’t of God’s sake.
And, instead of just confessing our sins, we choose to hold on.
The access weight becomes apart of us because we’ve carried it for so long.
The people that had been watching us are now starting to think and feel.
That, maybe the God that we profess, maybe He isn’t real.

They remember the power that used to be upon you.
They remember how you used to not do the things that you now do.
They see that you’ve lost focus, and now, you’re just the same.
So, they turn back away, and then, who are we to blame?
We’re sending them back into the world with no sense of direction.
Looking for protection for a moment of affection.
And, the devil is pleased. But what about our savior?
How does our God feel about this worldly behavior?

We know that we’ve done wrong, so we give in to depression.
But, God said in His word that He was wounded for our transgressions.
So rise up from amongst the people; you will never fit in.
Stand out from amongst the people and start all over again.
Loose the shackles that once had you bound.
You may’ve been lost for a moment, but now you have been found.

We have a calling on our lives and we need to take heed.
Declare his glory among the nations, pray and intercede.
It starts in the home and it’s time to do things right.
So that God may grant us strength to press on through the night,
Let the people see the light of God shining through.
Give them a reason to want to follow you.
Show them the difference that God has made in your life;
In your home, in your school, your children and your wife.

It’s time to raise the standard, and this comes in many ways.
In our walk, in our talk, in how we act everyday.
We need to live by principles; we need to draw the line.
And when people look inside our hearts, it’s Jesus they shall find.
So testify of His goodness, and testify of His grace.
Bless His Holy name, praise Him in every place.
Be the role model, and teach the people what is right.
Show them the way out of darkness and into the light.

And, when they have questions, and need someone to call.
Teach them how to go to God, for He’s the answer of them all.
Be a witness to the world where ever you may go.
And, in all that you do, be sure to let the people know that,
At any place and any time, you can be delivered and healed.
For everybody is somebody, and the Holy Ghost is yet real.
