GOOD FRIEND = GREAT ROOMMATE??

Tanika Jones · Friday, March 31st 2006 at 10:56PM · 398 views
Dealing with college is sometimes easier when some of your old high school friends are also attending the same college with you. Therefore, it would only make sense for your "best friend" or "friend" from high school to be your roommate in college. Right??? (Maybe Not)

Well, after I decided to attend college, my friend asked me to be her roommate during freshmen year. I talked to other people who had already "been there and done that" and they advised me NOT to do it. Why not?? It SEEMED like a good idea to me --> Good friend, great roommate??

Why is having your friend as a roommate viewed as such a BAD idea?? Let me know what's goin on. lol

that's what i wondered after being told that. i dont have a best friend so i guess im good to go. however, i do have a few homegirls who are doing it at florida a&m so ill see how their relations go. on the other hand, i have 2 peeps at b-cc and they were good friends in HS. their now rooming together and i havent her of any conflicts. but i think we (freshmen) would be best of just living with someone we dont know

Trust me on something girl, YOU NEVER KNOW SOMEONE UNTIL YOU LIVE WITH THEM. My best friend from Junior High moved in with my family about a year ago and most days I just want to rip her damn head off. Its one thing to be friends with somebody and see each other on the regular, its another thing to have to see that damn person every time you turn the hell around. Good luck with making that decision though

i agree with Nik...i haven't been thru it personally, but i have several friends that have...in one instance, the girls were such good friends that they even had boyfriends that were best friends...well things were okay at first, but as time progressed and they started learning more about each other, they began to grow apart...and eventually when one broke up with her boyfriend, the other stopped communicating with her....now that one has transferred, they're back being friends...but trust me...its not something you wanna do!
