Hey y'all.
I'm sure you've been hearing a lot about the situation pertaining the illegal immigrants that we have here in the US. It's guest-imated that there are about 3 million illegal immigrants here in the US, and Mexicans are the majority. I believe that Congress is now deciding if these persons will be allowed to stay in the US or be forced to their homelands? This nation looks at the immigrants as felons if their here in the US illegally. However, I pose a few questions.
Nearly 60% of Americans don't want it to be legalized that immigrants are allowed in the US, because they feel it send a message to many others to come as they please. This (i guess) would lead to population problems, shortage of jobs, another ethnic background taking over, etc.? I mean...I'm just so confused! Our President on the other hand is in a bad position. If he does sign the Bill to make it a law he may lose respect from a lot of people, and gain it from others.
Im sure that you all would agree that most of these immigrants do jobs that you and I as well as other Americans would not THINK about doing. Most of us are focused on our studies to obtain a degree and start in a specific profession. Immigrants come here to work! That's all. From my knowledge, they're not taking any jobs from Americans- well not in most areas. Or are they? Have you ever heard a child saying that they want to pick fruit when they grow up, or wanting to package meat? Cut lawns? I don't mean to sound stereotypical, just trying to state it how I see it.
So I ask you my fellow hbcuconnet-ers...do you think this nation should allow immigrants to stay in the US? Or should they be sent to their homeland?
