Johnson C. Smith University is hosting the 5th Annual Carolinas Alliance for Success in Education (C.A.S.E.) Summit Nov. 15-17, 2018. The summit brings faculty and administrators from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in North and South Carolina together with leaders from industry, government, and the community to discuss and solve common problems.
This year's summit will address broadband connectivity on our campuses and in the surrounding urban and rural communities to promote local economic development. The agenda features discussions about improving broadband access and affordability, as well as innovation at HBCUs.
Speakers include Mignon L. Clyburn of the Federal Communications Commission; Johnathan M. Holifield, executive director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities; Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles; and City Councilman James E. Mitchell, Jr. There will also be a panel of presidents from Allen University, Benedict College, Fayetteville State University, and Elizabeth City State University.
This summit brings all HBCUs in the Carolinas together to share their visions and to collaborate on improving the success rate in responding to grant-funded projects. Please click here to REGISTER free!
