Alabama State University President Ross's Inauguration and Labor Day Classic Events (2404 hits)

WHEN: Aug. 26 - Sept. 2.
WHERE: On the ASU campus and elsewhere (see a listing of events, locations and times below).

Below is a listing of activities that surround the official inauguration of Alabama State University's 15th President, Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr. and the University's Labor Day Classic events, which is intended for your news organizations planning and assignment purposes.

Yes, Dr. Ross has been at the helm of our University since October, but ASU (like many other schools) has the "official" celebration of inaugural events and ceremonies several months after the President takes office as the school's leader, which includes the Swearing-in-Ceremony and much more.

In ASU's case, the official ceremonies all begin on August 26, and conclude on Sept. 2.

Because ASU is such a prominent member of this community (with thousands of alumni and fans here in the River Region alone, and an economic impact in Alabama of over $900 million annually) we know that there are many of these events that you will wish to cover for your news outlet. We welcome assisting you with any preview news stories, as well as all "day of event" news coverage, which includes such diverse ASU inaugural events as:

President Ross's official Swearing-in-Ceremony; First-Family's Jazz Luncheon; President's Business & Community Reception; Mighty Marching Hornets Band Reunion and Paver Installation; Labor Day Classic Concert (featuring 90's Hip Hop sensation Bell Biv Devoe headlining with Guy and Juvenile); Annual Labor Day Classic Football Game between ASU and Tuskegee University; Nat King Cole Jazz Festival on the banks of the Alabama River, and so much more listed below (I will also be sending you updates).

Let's talk soon about these events and how we may help customize your coverage of our ASU Inaugural/Labor Day Classic activities, which will inform and satisfy your news consumers who enjoy the latest updates on Alabama State University and its President!

Thanks and feel free to call me at 334-229-4104 with any requests or suggestions.
