Free & Open to the Public

WHEN: Thursday (Feb. 22) at 1 p.m.
WHERE: ASU's Ralph D. Abernathy College of Education Auditorium (On Harris Way, near Carter Hill Rd. Entrance to Campus).

The sky and beyond are the only limits this Thursday (Feb. 22) to the imagination of space exploration as an astronaut accompanied by leaders from NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, come to the campus of Alabama State University during Aerospace States Association’s Alabama Aerospace Week to remind Montgomery, River Region residents and the Hornet Nation of the important role that Alabama has and is playing in leading America back to the Moon and beyond to Mars!

The event is free and open to the public.

ASU President Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr. said that Marshall Center director Todd May and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson will speak at 1 p.m. at the University's Ralph D. Abernathy College of Education auditorium, and at the conclusion of their remarks, the space leaders will speak to the news media.

"ASU is honored to have such important aerospace leaders and space pioneers come to our campus to discuss the importance of exploring space, which has as its foundation the study of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) sciences," Ross said. "At Alabama State University, we value our STEM college and academic course offerings that encourage our students to aim for the stars."

Alabama Aerospace Week recognizes the myriad contributions that the aerospace industry makes to Alabama and to its residents.
