Veterans Honored at Alabama State University Small Business & Government Procurement Conference at Hyundai (1556 hits)

WHEN: Thursday (Nov. 9) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama's Training Center at 900 Hyundai Blvd.

In honor of America's veterans, Alabama State University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is again hosting with Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, the Sixth Annual Government Procurement & Matchmaker Conference that takes place Thursday (Nov. 9), from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Training Center at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, which is located at 900 Hyundai Blvd.

Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. and the conference begins at 8:30 a.m.

Participants will have the opportunity to present a business pitch to showcase their products and services to professional procurement representatives and small business specialists from government and corporate agencies, which will allow them to have positive feedback on how to best market their products or services.
Some of the conference highlights will include presentations by resource partners, as well as educational sessions such as “What Primes are Looking for in Subcontractors,” as well as “The Benefits of Mentor-Protégé Relationships.” There also will be pre-selected and open matchmaking sessions and networking opportunities.

The event is designed to foster business partnerships between veterans, women, minorities, others, and the federal government and corporate agencies.

“The Procurement Conference and Matchmaker has become the premier event for small businesses throughout the state of Alabama,” said Andrea Mosley, director of ASU's SBDC.
A nominal registration fee of only $25 is required to participate.

Co-sponsors for the event with Alabama State University are Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC and ASU’s College of Education.
