Alabama State University Student Accepted into National Enactus Student Fellows Program (1038 hits)

Sophomore Sierra Hart is the first ASU student accepted in the program

Alabama State University sophomore Sierra Hart has been accepted into the 2017-18 BNY Mellon Enactus Student Fellows Program. The program is designed to help top Enactus students strengthen their capacity to create and deploy higher quality projects that have sustainable impact and to better prepare the students for successful careers.

Hart is the first ASU student to be accepted into the program and is looking forward to the training she will receive during her participation.

“I am honored to receive this opportunity from Enactus,” Hart said. “I know all the great things they are teaching me will help me be successful now and in the future.”

Hart, a business management major from Fort Myers, Fla., also is ASU’s Enactus team president for this academic year.

WHAT IS ENACTUS
In 2016, BNY Mellon partnered with Enactus United States to create the BNY Mellon Enactus Student Fellows Program, a workforce competency certification plan that provides participants with additional training in the areas of project management, entrepreneurial thinking and financial skills in a Free Market Economy. The initial grant from BNY Mellon helped to establish a pilot cohort last year in New York and New Jersey, and 43 Enactus students became the first class of Enactus Student Fellows.

Throughout this academic year, Enactus Student Fellows will cover material in three workforce competency areas: Project Management, Entrepreneurial Thinking and Financial Skills in a Free Market Economy. The program incorporates content from three Enactus USA partners: Gallup, Last Mile Learning, and Common Sense Economics.

Students who successfully complete the program will earn the designation of a Certified Enactus Student Fellow and receive recognition and celebration at the 2018 USA National Exposition in Kansas City; an invitation to a private reception with top executives from Enactus partner companies; an exclusive partner preview of student resumes prior to Expo 2018; and an Enactus Student Fellows certificate, lapel pin, name badge, ribbon and t-shirt.
