On August 20, Alabama State University's National Center Will Host 14th Annual Patrons and Donors Reception (966 hits)

The Alabama State University's National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African-American Culture (National Center) is hosting its annual Patrons & Donors Reception on Aug. 20 (Sunday), at 3 p.m. in the Levi Watkins Learning Center (ASU Library) in its Lecture Hall.

In a written statement, the Center noted that this reception is held to recognize and honor the patrons of the National Center and is an opportunity for it to say 'thank you' to both individuals and organizations, which have contributed financial or material donations to the University.

During the program, the National Center will acknowledge those Patrons who have reached their first five years of financial contributions to the organization. It will also present the “Member of the Year,” “Citizen of the Year,” and “President’s Award” at the reception; acknowledge the two-dozen material donors to the University Archives in 2017 and thank others.

Members of the news media are invited to come by and report on the event and interview its participants - when you arrive, ask for Dean Janice Franklin.
