
For the second consecutive year, the Triad Business Journal has included North Carolina A&T State University’s Chancellor Harold Martin Sr. among the 2016 Triad’s Most Influential People.
WHAT:
Each year the Triad Business Journal recognizes leaders in the Triad who help their organizations succeed which in turn causes the region to thrive. The journal deems its “Most Influential People” list as one of the most important groups of leaders it recognizes all year.
WHEN:
Martin was invited to attend a private event Oct. 27, 2016
WHERE:
The private program and reception was held at Biotech Place in the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to hear the Piedmont Triad Partnership State of the Region address, followed by a reception with all “Most Influential” honorees and other leaders of the Triad.
WHY
Under Martin’s leadership, N.C. A&T has become the largest Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the nation and has held the title of No. 1 public HBCU in the nation. He has successfully and expeditiously established the university as a relevant and preeminent institution through sound academics, strategic partnerships and collaboration and economic research throughout the campus, community and nation. Additionally, Martin maintains an active presence throughout the Triad with memberships to several boards, including the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Review Advisory Board, the Research Triangle Institute and the Piedmont Triad Regional Development Council.
About North Carolina A&T State University
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is the nation’s largest historically black university. It is a land-grant, higher research university and constituent member of the University of North Carolina system. A&T is known for its leadership in producing graduates in engineering, agriculture and other STEM fields. The university was founded in 1891 and is located in Greensboro, North Carolina.
