Oakwood alumni David Conkerite, 11, and Edward Pelote, II, '14, returned to Oakwood recently, this time representing Loma Linda University Health. David is the Program Manager for the Department of Human Resources and Edward is a management resident, and they visited Oakwood University's School of Business for Loma Linda's annual information and interview sessions.
On arrival at the interest meeting, the Loma Linda representatives greeted the students with smiles, and prizes that could only be obtained at the meeting, which is always held the day before the scheduled interviews.
Important information was disseminated to the students to help them decide if Loma Linda was the place for the expansion of their career. Included was information on internships, the Loma Linda Vision 2020 plan, the size and growth of their network, and much more. Food was provided by "Nothing but Noodles" to enhance the engagement.
Before their arrival, students had signed-up for an interview slot to improve their chances of obtaining an internship. Twenty-one students interviewed in total for various internship opportunities, allowing them to gain valuable interview experience and connections.
We are always excited to have corporations interested in Oakwood University students. Additionally we are proud to see Oakwood graduates succeeding in the workplace and coming back to invest their time and energy in their alma mater.
