Apply To Attend An HBCU Conference For HBCU Students (With Paid Accommodations/Travel) Presented By Spotify (12589 hits)


Greetings from Spotify USA! We are contacting you with an exciting opportunity for HBCU students called The Opening Act || HBCU Conference.

The Opening Act || HBCU Conference is a two-day experience, welcoming eager and talented freshmen,sophomores, & juniors that attend Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU), with an interest in the music-tech and media industries. Throughout this experience, attendees will hear from executives and thought leaders within the music, tech and media industries.

Students will see first-hand what a career path in these fields looks like, and gain valuable insight into how to achieve career goals. In addition, they’ll get the chance to network and build community with other HBCU students across the nation, all while immersed in the vibrant energy of New York City.

Travel and accommodation will be provided by Spotify for students selected to attend the event on October 6-7 in New York, New York.

To be considered for The Opening Act || HBCU Conference, students must be a current freshmen, sophomores, & juniors of an accredited HBCU. Please apply below:
  1. Attach resume in upload box
  2. Attach a separate document with a 250-word (maximum) response to the question:
    • “What does the power of music mean to culture or you?”


The application deadline is Monday, September 19th.
