
The Putnam City School District board of education voted recently to fill four administrative positions.
High schools
Tyrea Craig and Twylla Hester were hired as high school assistant principals. Craig will serve at Putnam City North High School, and Hester was assigned to Putnam City West.
For the past two years, Craig has been an assistant principal at Capps Middle School. She served as an assistant principal at Cooper Middle School four years before that and was an administrative intern at Western Oaks Middle School for one year.
Before going to Western Oaks, she taught at Putnam City West High School for 12 years. She holds a master's degree in urban educational studies from Langston University and a master's degree in educational administration, curriculum and supervision from the University of Oklahoma. She has a bachelor's degree in physical education from Idaho State University in Pocatello.
Hester has been an assistant principal at Hefner Middle School for the past four years and served as an administrative intern at Mayfield Middle School for a year before that. She taught for 10 years in Putnam City, Duke, Sweet-
water and Del City.
She holds a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and a bachelor's degree in mathematics education from Florida International University.
Middle schools
Holly McNutt and Kara Walk were hired as middle school assistant principals. McNutt will be at Cooper Middle School, and Walk was assigned to Mayfield Middle School.
For the past two years, McNutt has served as an administrative intern at James L. Dennis Elementary and Harvest Hills Elementary. Before coming to Putnam City, she taught elementary school for 17 years for Moore Public Schools.
She holds a master's degree in educational leadership from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Oklahoma City University.
Walk spent last year as an assistant principal at Webster Middle School in Oklahoma City, but the rest of her career has been in Putnam City. She was an administrative intern for three years, serving at Cooper Middle School, Western Oaks Middle School and Western Oaks Elementary School.
Before moving into administrative ranks, she was a teacher at Capps Middle School for seven years, coached for four years and served as the school's athletic director for three years. She holds a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma and a bachelor's degree in English from Northeastern State
University.
