Bethune-Cookman University’s President, Dr. Edison O. Jackson, accepted the ALS challenge from Embry-Riddle University’s President, Dr. John P. Johnson, to raise funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) research.

The Chief of Staff, Fontaine D. Davis, did the honors of dousing the bucket of ice water. President Jackson will donate $1000 to the ALS Association, and members of the B-CU family will match the President’s gift. “This is a great opportunity for B-CU to shine a bright light on research being done to find a cure for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. I want to show our students the importance of supporting great causes that aim to improve the quality of life.”

President Jackson challenged the City of Daytona Beach’s Mayor Derrick Henry to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
