Congratulations to the Wiley College 100 Voice A Cappella choir. We challenged the Tom Joyner Foundation supporters to vote on the best HBCU Choir in our weekly poll question. The poll drew in more than 120, 000 thousand voters who support these individual institutions. The Wiley College A Cappella is one of the best collegiate choirs in the United States. They have performed twice at the White House for a special concert for President Obama and his family. Recently, they just returned from a trip to Japan where twenty members of the Wiley’s 100-voice A Cappella choir traveled to Japan to join the 2014 International Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges, and Universities (IAMSCU) Conference.

Wiley College is a four-year, private, historically black, liberal arts college located on the west side of Marshall, Texas. Founded in 1873 by the Methodist Episcopal Church’s Bishop Isaac Wiley and certified in 1882 by the Freedman’s Aid Society, it is noted as one of the oldest predominantly black colleges west of the Mississippi River. The college is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and the UNCF.
