Microsoft Gives $8 Million Dollars to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (2508 hits)

In support of its ongoing commitment to America’s HBCUs, Microsoft is pleased to announce its most recent contribution to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) Technology Initiative with an $8 million software grant through its Technology for Good donation program. Thurgood Marshall College Fund Technology Initiative was created to address long-term technology needs of the schools and to identify funding sources to support technology upgrades.

The TMCF supports and represents nearly 300,000 students attending its 47 member-schools that include public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), medical schools and law schools. This most recent software grant is part of the $37 million software contributions that Microsoft has provided for the organization in the past nine years. The grant will support TMCF member schools and thousands of students by reinforcing the IT capacity of its institutions and build viable classroom, library and office environments. More specifically the grants will be distributed based off the size of the student body, the faculty and need for funding the purchase of new computers and software.

Many of Microsoft’s initiatives exemplify the commitment to investing in the education and future of our youth through ongoing, strategic partnerships with nonprofits throughout the U.S. and the world.
