2013 STEP AFRIKA! AUDITIONS

STEP AFRIKA! is an internationally acclaimed dance company based in Washington DC. The company specializes in the tradition of stepping as well as the South African gumboot dance, traditional African styles and other dance forms. Step Afrika! seeks to hire company members for an 11-month contract, commencing on or around August 1, 2013.
Step Afrika! does extensive national and international touring, therefore, new hires must be willing to relocate to Washington, DC. Step Afrika! conducts auditions in Washington, DC, in the Spring/Summer of each year but accepts applications and audition tapes on an on-going basis. Talented performers in other dance forms (i.e. Tap, West African, Modern, or Hip-Hop) and those with strengths such as percussionists and/or vocalists should also audition.

Auditions: Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 5:00pm - 11:00pm
Callbacks: Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 12:00pm - 6:00pm
Please prepare a 1-2 minute solo to demonstrate any unique talents. This may include vocal performance, modern, ballet, hip hop, tap, etc.
