
HBCUs are joining together to do something about the serious health crisis that is affecting young African-Americans. HBCUs are introducing healthier meals in the cafeterias in an effort to fight the fat.
Several HBCUs including Lincoln University -Pennsylvania, South Carolina State, and Talladega College are uniting to help young people get healthier and eat healthier.
According to The Center for Disease Control and Prevention 70% of African-American women from varying age groups qualify as overweight or obese.
African-Americans suffering from obesity are more likely to be at risk for diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
