Calvin Smyre

Calvin Smyre received his B.S. degree from Fort Valley State. He was elected to the Georgia State House of Representatives when he was 26 and was its youngest member at the time. Among his many political and legislative accomplishments, Rep. Smyre is the executive vice president of corporate affairs for Synovus Financial Corporation. He is also the chairman and CEO of the Synovus Foundation. He sits on the Board of Trustees of the Medical College of Georgia Foundation, the Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Jack D. Hughston Foundation. He is also chairman of the Fort Valley State University Foundation.
