I never thought I would see the day where something as important as Education is stymied due to gas???
I was passing by the Gov't information t.v. station and noticed schools were closed for this Mon and Tues last week.
I thought it was due to maybe the remnants of Hurricane Rita coming this way, I knew there were no holidays near.
I called my teenage Niece to inform her that schools were going to be out (along with 2 nephews and a baby Niece). I asked my Niece did she know the deal. She responded, Yo Uncle Will! Lol!
I stated "wadup Necie(I gave her that nickname along with her name)".
She stated to my shock that schools were closed due to gas prices.
I understood our Governor(Sonny Purdue) reasons. Gas prices were due to go up Mon or Tues nd the Bus system along with many parents, workers etc. can not afford the sudden increases in gas prices.Also this is our state protest against gas prices in which Pres. Bush supposedly endorses this decisions.
Needless to say this makes no since. It is as if there re no restrictions on theses Oil people making money.
Even Bill Oreilley, national political talk show host who I rarely agree with is shouting out.
I was even at the gas station last Fri and Republican people who voted for Bush(white folks) were calling everyone who voted for bush stupid.
I have always known several things follow a Republican Pres i.e. Inflation, War, High Unemployment etc.
How soon people forget about Reaganomics(Trickle Down Theory).
I was telling a relative, "I wonder how many blacks that voted for Bush will now jump on the bandwagon of dissent since the white folks are coming out stating bad voting".
Many blacks tend to support white folk beliefs more than the white leader does, lets not forget slavery days.
Many blacks were killed by other blacks as depicted in some slave movies.
I mean I was amazed that this older 50+ yr old male was going around venting along with other folks about Bush.
Anyway............
The U.S. is in a big mess.
Oh and another Bush was busted for intoxication either drugs or alcohol. And also for resisting arrests. Jeb Bush son, Jeb's daughter hs been in and out of rehab.
Both Pres Bushes daughters have been busted for underage drinking with fake ID's.
Why do I mention this?
I thought all things start at home?
We re in a foreign country trying to set other people straight, Bush came up with the plan that if anyone in your household is busted for drugs, you are kicked out, Period.
Well Both Bush brothers live in Public housing.
Double standards.
Plus Pres Bush is an ex alcohoilc and has used drugs before in which he admits as recently as the 70's(Cocaine). Yes this is his past, but it is popping up in their children.
So we are all messed up from the Gov't to his own family.
But hey, when elections come around, many will not vote but as I stated before are the 1st to complain. I have stated too often well now we will see how bad things will get with all those Republicans in office.
But hey racism (Remember Hurricane Katrina vs. Hurricane Rita regardless of well they had recent prior experience) is not real anymore, just ask a lot of black folk.
I wonder what they think today since so much has affected us all.
It always does when it hits your pockets or your own people close to you, like Condeleeza's Rice mother who lives in Alabama. Condeleeza came the week or a little longer after that.
But of course she has as tokenism( I say 1 of the worse injustice to us as a people) had to defend her boss.
I'd rather have someone that is going to do right by us personally than just someone because we are similar in culture.
This war was further fueled by Colin)he resigned) and Ms. Rice.
Who are the most people affected and dying? What econoimc status is most affected?
Anyway, GAS PRICES ARE CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
