So there I was...

Yeah so I was sitting in Barnes & Nobles, you know over there off County Line, studying for my Child Psychology test Sunday the 28 when it happened. A young lady said to her friend behind me, "Ju I'm just gettin ready for Katrina." I sat there thinking like everybody else in Jackson that a lil' ole hurricane will not hurt us too bad. Boy wasn't I wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong... Monday and all the days following were far worst than anyone could have thought. No there wasn't any flooding or crushed buildings but the aftermath is just as wild. At least for a young woman like me from the North where the most vicious storm is a blizzard that I can plow through. There isn't any water, power ,food, or gas for some. No I'm not complaining, instead I'm crying for all those affected by this tragedy. Crying because somebody was not as lucky as I was. Crying because it seems as if no one is moving fast enough. Crying because I wasn't the only one who was wrong...

I know where you coming from. No one really believed Katrina was going to be back. I'm pretty sure that's the last time they name a hurricane after a black female :o ! But fa real, all I've been able to do the past couple days is cry, too. Seeing the babies and elderly in N.O. and just the devastation period especially hurts. All I can say is keep praying.....I know I am.
