$10.5 Billion??? (1068 hits)

"Send help please!" said a refugee. Bush responded by approving $10.5 billion in aid.

Ok...what's wrong with that picture? How are you ONLY going to approve $10.5 billion for the hurricane? Florida got nearly $20 billion, and they are a rich state. Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama are poor states.

We need more than that in Louisiana as New Orleans will take BILLIONS AND BILLIONS to fix. I mean...we are THREE states. We can't split $10.5 billion in three ways (that's $3.5 billion each). Come on...what can $3.5 billion do for a destroyed city and a destroyed section of a state?

I wonder...is Bush REALLY that dumb? Does he not know that New Orleans is under water with toxic fumes, fires, and animals running wild? I wonder how does he sleep at night, knowing that he treated his brother better. Is it because Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are majority Black? I don't get it. We are supposed to be the people who make up the USA, and we are the ones being treated wrong. Bush sent so much money to the victims of tsunami and stuff, and had food dropped off the next day. Us...we are still seeing images of our people "looting," while white people are "finding" food.

How is that Blacks are looting, and whites are finding? I'm sorry...did I miss something? Looting is defined as "stolen goods." Mainly, looting is stealing during the time of a war. So, aren't the whites doing the same thing we are? Maybe, it's a race thing. Maybe, it's not. But I do know something: they are both doing the same thing! They are both stealing. I guess that means if the Blacks on TV were white, then they would be "trying to survive." In actuality, some of those Blacks were trying to survive. One guy "looted" some Diet Pepsi and groceries to have food to eat. Of course, the media said "looting"...

I'm just really stressed right now. So many of my people are either from the affected areas or go to school there. I've called some of them, and most made it out OK (like Keke Rogers, Monet Weatherspoon, and others). I'm glad to hear that, but I haven't heard from one of my homegirls, who was trapped down there due to Xavier's dumb policy. They said they had to have her parent's signature before they ship her out. I was like, "What?!" What's wrong with them? I've been trying hard to contact her and everything, but the cellular system is so messed up down there. I hope she's alright. I talked to Monet, who goes to Xavier, and she said the flood was so high that the 5th floor of her dorm is flooded.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand, Bush really needs to send MORE money down to New Orleans. I don't care how in debt the country is. If we can send so much money to all these other countries and so on, then we should be able to send at least $20 billion to each state. Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana need it. Mississippi is one of the poorest states in the union. They may not recover for years from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

Bush, if you read this, don't be offended. Just send more money. As some of the refugees said, "Send help please!"

Ha Ha, I should've waited before I posted my blog. I just wrote on the same thing Alexcia did. But anyway, shyt yea, I 1000000000000% agree. I go to Alcorn State, and nah, we ain't get it as bad as everyone else, but yea, we got it. And I have family on the coast, in New Orleans, and in Mobile. This shyt is almost surreal. All I have been able to do so far is cry. I'm going to re-exert my energy into volunteering ASAP. Anyway, these scenes oddly remind me of some of the parts on "War of the Worlds." However instead the "human race vs. aliens," it's the "government vs. everybody but the wealthy whom even though we outnumber them, they call us minorities." But that's not the point, the point is $10.5 billion is laughable. I just found out that the projected cost is $100 billion. $100 BILLION!!!! THE HELL??? Well, here's America's wake up call. A little too late. Makes you wonder how different the election would have went enduring what we've endured now! It's sad that to Bush, my life (along with the rest of my race, or none rich whites to be exact) is worth only (or less!) than a barrel of oil. Damn.
Keep speakin ya mind...we hear you.

YES HE IS REALLY THAT DUMB.... OF COURSE HE KNOWS BUT HE DOESNT CARE>... he basically said that in that lil interview he did in Biloxi & alabama. The news reporter asked said to him that the people want to know why is it that he can spend billions in Iraq everyday but he cant's do it here in his own country and the people feel that he's spending way too much in IRAQ.. THat dummy had the nerve to say" I.. I .. I totally disagree, we have a job to protect the war on terror and I job to help THE GOOD FOLKS here in the gulf, We are capable of both and we are goin to take care of it." THat fool aint goin to stop that war for nothing in the world because its benefitting him. If we so called god all this oil from IRAQ what the problem with the gasoline.
I keep hearing him mention that we are taking from oil from this "special refinery." WHich tells me AMerica has a back up o the gas problem he just don't wanna use it because its taking money out of his pocket.
He's very sickening to me... Yall gotta check out this story on MSNBC.com... the news lady was talking to this guy and asking him why the US couldn't drop food like they do in 3rd world countries and stuff. He came up with all kinds of excuses.. I'll post the link on here later...
