There was a time when TV and news media would show starving African children that it made me so sad. I'm sure it made many African Americans said. But that was 40, 30, 20, 10 and 1 year ago. Not sure it affects me the same way today. Its like, what are the African governments really doing about their starving citizens. Does Africans have the same degree of love for their young and other nations have. For instance, does the French or German parents love their children for than African parents? This whole thing of putting a value on human life goes back to the time of slavery out of Africa.
If you are like me, there seems to be no end to the suffering of Africans. Being 6000 miles away, the easist thing to do about it is ignore it. But seeing it all the time has a way of making less of it. If they don't care, why should I care. But they are my people so I do care .
