older generation (105 hits)

so im watching my grandparents and i then realize that i love our older generations of blacks they have been through so much and yet they are still teaching us so much.....i then start to think about the future....i dont think we will have the older generation of black ppl b4 us when we get that old b/c more and more parents are becoming younger meaning babies having babies....i mean yesterday i was in the mall and a girl was 14 and was like 7 months pregnant...children do not know how to raise a child b/c they are a child themselves.....then on maury a girl who was 12 years old didnt know who the father of her child was.....im afraid we are losing our culture and our values....so many of our values seems to have been thrown out of the window....i personally feel that the 80's (our generation) was the last generation to grow up where values were still very much important.....it has become to normal to have children raising children......have we not learned n-ething from our parents/grandparents....where do u think our values will be in 10-20 years if we have n-e left at all????

KEKE you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT....I feel that our generation (80s) children are the last to grow up on those real values...I remember when my grandma, her friends, church members, ushers could pinch me and take me out if I needed some correction. Today its like no one can touch anyone....I know that I respected older generations of blacks....I appreciated the stories that they shared with me regarding my heritage.....I remember when we were coming up literacy rates werent as low as they are now...I agree with MARCUS had it not been for the other generation I dont know how I'd be....I'm glad that my family is full of LOVE and that they nutured values and education in me......It is understandable that someone gets pregnant as a quote on quote mistake but when you are 16 and you have 2 children and there is a possibility that you might be pregnant again come on....You know GOOD AND WELL that it isnt a mistake....Its like today s*x and MONEY are the most important things to have and Education and Family somewhere on the list BUT NOT where it should be.....All I can say is this nation needs prayer and I know that when it comes down to my children when I have them I am instilling values in them that need to be put in them at the appropriate time.....
