well my grandparents have been paying for my college tuition out of the pocket since freshman year and that was all fine and dandy but now my grandfather is building a business out of his pocket no loans or n-ething....now that he is building his business money has gotten tight.....my grandparents say that we r on a budget now when i ask to get a job my grandfather tells me no that i need to focus on school but im like at least i will be able to get stuff on my own with out having to ask u guys....so a little while ago i went to the financial aid office and asked about how could i be an independent and they told me how....when i told them i was doing it they were real weary of free money from the government that didnt have to be paid back(older blacks r really weary of the government) in which i dont blame them but once i got them to see that i was doing this for them they decided that i could still do it.....yesterday i got my award money which tells me i was accepted as an independent student so now i can give my grandparents a little bit of extra money in their pockets which im so happy for b/c they have already done so much for me so the least i can do is give back in my own little way
