Do you want to know why Blacks make up more than half of all new HIV/AIDS cases in the U.S.? Do you want to know why Black women account for more that 70% of all new HIV/AIDS cases among women in the U.S.?
Well come find out. Attend the 2005 LIFE AIDS HIV/AIDS Awareness Student Teach-In.

Aimed at increasing the dialogue around HIV/AIDS and individual capacity to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Black communities, the student teach in and town hall meeting is a program designed to educate Black college students in order to increase the number of college student dedicated to eradicating this disease.

Our hopes are to first create a comfortable dialogue around HIV/AIDS issues in order to decrease those stigmas associated with HIV/AIDS. We invite individuals who are immersed in HIV/AIDS awareness, policy, and advocacy. We also invite medical researchers and medical service providers who work exclusively in the HIV/AIDS field. To join a panel of your peer actvists in order to have a discussion about HIV/AIDS in Black America.

We recruit student leaders, journalist and activist from colleges and universities all over the country. The student teach-in immerses students in full day of curriculum around HIV/AIDS awareness and advocacy. The students learn the science of HIV including the life cycle of the HIV virus. The students also learn how to read and interpret statistics related to HIV/AIDS. The students also learn about the modes of transmission and how to prevent transmission.

We further engage students by teaching them effective ways to cover, promote and educate in respects to HIV/AIDS. We teach them how to start their own campus chapters of LIFE AIDS. We also show them how build cohesive relationships with the community based organizations with common goals.

We really want to see you there so get in contact with me asap. There are full scholarships available to those who reply early. Only a first come first serve basis.
